& Project Manager

Al Hildebrandt, owner and developer of 2041 Harvey Avenue, is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and community leader whose career is defined by innovation and long-term vision. As the founder and former CEO of QHR Technologies (TSX-V: QHR), Al helped build one of Canada’s most successful digital health software companies, guiding its transformation from a local startup into a national powerhouse that created high-quality jobs and positioned Kelowna as a growing tech hub. The company’s acquisition by Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart in 2016 marked a milestone in his entrepreneurial journey, freeing Al to focus on community-driven investments.

Through his company, Impact UPstream Ventures Inc., Al now channels his expertise into legacy projects that foster economic growth, innovation, and civic pride. His vision for 2041 Harvey Ave—a world-class, mass timber conference centre and hotel—reflects his deep belief in Kelowna’s potential as a destination for national and international business, tourism, and culture. A long-time resident and advocate for the region, Al actively mentors entrepreneurs, supports economic development initiatives, and invests in projects that deliver lasting value. This redevelopment project represents not just a bold architectural endeavour but also Al’s personal mission to leave a meaningful legacy for future generations in a city he has helped shape.

Andrew Bowerbank is a nationally recognized leader in Canada’s building, design, and construction industries, widely regarded for his expertise in innovation, sustainability, and large-scale collaboration. As CEO of Cetana Group and Executive Director of the Prefab Buildings Initiative, Andrew works at the intersection of sustainable development, industry transformation, and community engagement. He is now proud to be working closely with Al Hildebrandt and a broad network of stakeholders to craft a vision and execute the development of the Kelowna Conference Centre.

Throughout his career, Andrew has held influential leadership roles at organizations including the World Green Building Council (CEO), WSP Canada (Vice President), the Canadian Wood Council (Vice President), and EllisDon Corp (Global Director). He has also served as a Member Representative to the United Nations, advancing policies and strategies around sustainable development. A published author and highly sought-after keynote speaker, Andrew has built an international reputation for shaping bold, forward-thinking initiatives that accelerate innovation and elevate Canada’s building sector. His involvement in the Kelowna Conference Centre project brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to delivering a design that is visionary, impactful, and reflective of the city’s character and aspirations.
